The Payroll Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for Infinity Group’s team members. The ideal candidate will have a good focus, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for accuracy.

What is your mission?

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

  • Process and calculate employee wages, salaries, overtime, and other compensation accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure all timesheets are entered in accurately and on time by company managers. 
  • Generate login details for Payworks and trouble team member login issues for Payworks
  • Collect and verify timekeeping information, ensuring accuracy and completeness of hours worked.
  • Maintain employee records, including updates to personal information, tax withholding, and direct deposit details.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, new hires, terminations, and status changes are reflected in the payroll system.
  • Generate T4’s, respond to T4 inquiries and distribute T4s annually.
  • Generation of ROEs and ROE inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll queries and documentation for Worksafe BC claims.
  • Assist with immigration payroll data requests. 
  • Process and set up payroll documentation for staff accommodation and external housing rentals. Review jot forms with new residents.
  • Ensure collections for staff housing rental payments and generate forecasts and projections as needed for financial housing projects. 
  • Calculate and process deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings accurately.
  • Generate and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees on established schedules.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, deductions, and earnings.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing payroll reports, summaries, and analyses to management as needed.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies by investigating and resolving employee concerns and adjustments.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and other related documentation.
  • Post payroll entries into NetSuite. 
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to data protection regulations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements within the payroll function.

Who are we looking for?

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's degree beneficial).
  • 3 years of experience processing payroll.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Netsuite and Payworks is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and financial calculations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ethical and trustworthy, with the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and familiarity with industry best practices.
