  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles with accurate, GAAP‑compliant reporting.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid tracking, and fixed asset capitalization.
  • Oversee property‑level accounting for multiple self‑storage facilities including CAM, tenant billing, revenue recognition, expense allocations, rent roll reconciliation, delinquency reporting, and aged AR management.
  • Oversee accounting support for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, construction accounting, CIP, cost tracking, and capitalization.

  • Support investor reporting, audits, lender requirements, and tax deliverables through accurate data and documentation.
  • Build scalable accounting infrastructure and standardized processes to support rapid portfolio growth.
  • Oversee continuous improvement across ERP, property management software, AP automation, and reporting tools.
  • Hire, mentor, and lead a high‑performing accounting team with strong accountability and accuracy.
  • Identify and correct accounting errors, misbookings, and control issues to improve financial accuracy.
  • Manage books across multiple entities with heavy intercompany billing and high‑volume money movement.
  • Own the close process end‑to‑end and maintain strict accuracy across reconciliations and bookings.
  • Provide oversight to AP and property accounting teams to ensure clean processes and reporting.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
  • At least 3+ years of people leadership experience, capable of mentoring and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong command of GAAP, P&L, journal entries, reconciliations, accrual accounting, and general ledger management.
  • Hands‑on experience managing books for multiple entities with significant intercompany activity.
  • Experience working in high‑revenue organizations (~$200M+ minimum).

  • Experience building or improving internal controls, approval workflows, and accounting processes.
  • Experience supervising property accounting and AP operations.
  • Strong analytical and attention‑to‑detail skills with high accuracy in all accounting outputs.
  • Ability to identify, correct, and prevent accounting errors and misbookings.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, construction accounting, lender reporting, and investor reporting is preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving, documentation, and reporting skills, including executive‑level dashboards.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, property management tools, reporting software, and ERP environments.
