We are seeking a seasoned Azure Synapse Database Administrator to join our technology team. This role is pivotal in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Azure Synapse databases and ensuring high levels of data availability and performance. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2016 and above, coupled with extensive experience in Azure Database and Azure Synapse administration.

What is your mission?

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

  • Implement, manage, and monitor Azure SQL databases and Azure Synapse analytics services, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
  • Administer and support Windows SQL Server 2016 and newer versions, including database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Conduct regular database maintenance tasks, such as backups, index maintenance, and consistency checks, using both native and Azure technologies.
  • Design and implement database schema, stored procedures, and other necessary database objects with a focus on optimization and performance.
  • Work closely with development teams to advise on database technologies and optimizations, ensuring best practices in database design and development.
  • Monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime and participate in the planning and implementation of data models and database structural refinements.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes related to database administration to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Stay updated with Azure SQL Database and Azure Synapse features and best practices, applying new knowledge to enhance database performance and scalability.

Who are we looking for?

  • A Bachelor's Degree Graduate
  • Solid 2 to 3 years experience with Azure Synapse Administration and as a Database Administrator
  • Demonstrates proficiency in managing cloud-based database services.
  • Must hold a current Azure Administrator Associate certification (AZ-104).
  • Strong background in database administration, particularly with Windows SQL Server 2016 and above.
  • Excellent understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
