What is your mission? 

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Your skillset should help to elevate the firm from a startup to an institution
• Manage QuickBooks to oversee bookkeeping, maintain the chart of accounts, and perform monthly reconciliations. 
• Handle payroll processes for employees in the U.S. and the Philippines.
• Prepare and issue 1099 forms for U.S. employees and handle equivalent requirements in the Philippines.

Fund Accounting & Reporting

• Build and maintain detailed accounting sheets for each of Turbine Capital’s funds.
• Track acquisition fees, asset management fees, and financial forecasting across all funds.
• Collaborate with CPA teams to prepare, review, and audit investor K-1s for accuracy prior to distribution.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. taxation laws related to partnerships, carried interest, and fund management.

Investment Management & Capital Structuring

• Create and manage cap tables for multiple investment entities.
• Set up and manage share classes using Invest Next or similar investment management software.
• Build and manage waterfalls, understanding preferred returns, GP/LP structures, and classes of shares.

Distributions & Financial Oversight

• Manage and run fund distributions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as the primary controller for platforms like Dwolla for payment and distribution management.

Who are we looking for?

• At least 8 to 10 years experience as a Controller.
• Strong background in investment fund management and cap table management.
• In-depth knowledge of fund structures, including GP/LP frameworks, waterfalls, and preferred returns.
• Familiarity with U.S. taxation laws related to partnerships and carried interest.
• Highly trustworthy with sensitive financial information.
• Basic understanding of compliance requirements for U.S. investment funds.
• Experience with regulatory filings (e.g., SEC & IRS documentation) and CPA interactions.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Sheets.
