We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to play a vital role in managing the medical claim cycle efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless billing operations, verify insurance eligibility, and handle claim submissions and appeals with precision. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining compliance with HIPAA guidelines while providing exceptional service to patients, law firms, and insurance companies.

What is your mission? 

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

  • Ensure all data related to billing are accurate and inputted in the database - prior authorizations, letters from law firms, referrals, etc.
  • Verify US health insurance eligibility for all appointments/patients.
  • Prepare and submit claims with appropriate ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes related to the visit/procedure to insurance carrier.
  • Work on insurance denials, rejections, and or/ any outstanding claims by submitting corrected claims, reconsideration, and appeals.
  • Make outbound calls for any billing-related issue - claim status/issues to insurance carriers, patient inactive insurance and/or subrogation issue, etc.
  • Posting electronic remittance advice (ERA) and or/ explanation of benefit (EOB).
  • Answer calls or correspondence from patients, law firms, and/or insurance companies for billing inquiries, collect patient payments, and/or manage billing arrangements.
  • Follows U.S. HIPAA guidelines for security and PHI.

Who are we looking for?

  • At least 1 to 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in a Pain Management setting.
  • Understanding of medical authorization, referral, and US health insurance carriers.
  • Familiarity with the medical claim cycle/healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) process.
  • Proficiency with contractual terms, medical terminology, and the appropriate usage of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS in billing .
  • Demonstrate proficient use of EMR/EHR systems, preferably PrognoCIS & EclinicalWorks, or similar systems with billing and patient registration process.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and demonstrate a high level of productivity in all assigned tasks.
