What is your mission?

 You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

• Process accurate and timely multi‑state payroll for union and non‑union employees across high‑volume environments
• Perform pre‑processing payroll audits, validating wage rates, pay codes, classifications, union codes, and deductions
• Review and validate manual checks, reimbursements, retro adjustments, and off‑cycle payroll transactions
• Maintain organized payroll records, registers, and audit‑ready documentation
• Ensure prevailing wage compliance, including classification validation, fringe calculations, and reporting accuracy
• Validate union payroll requirements, including deductions, remittances, and agreement compliance
• Monitor compliance with multi‑state payroll regulations, including taxes, garnishments, and labor laws
• Reconcile payroll data across BuildOps, QuickBooks, payroll systems, and general ledger
• Review labor allocations by employee, department, and job cost codes to ensure costing accuracy
• Perform payroll‑related reconciliations, including taxes, liabilities, and payroll‑to‑general‑ledger tie‑outs
• Maintain strict payroll controls to prevent errors, duplicate payments, and compliance risks
• Support benefits deductions and employer contributions coordination with Human Resources
• Assist with internal and external audits, including insurance, bonding, and compliance reviews
• Collaborate with Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, and project teams to resolve payroll issues
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance

Who are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in payroll processing, including construction payroll environments
• Hands‑on experience managing multi‑state payroll and compliance requirements
• Strong experience handling union payroll, prevailing wage, and certified payroll processes
• Proven experience in payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance‑driven environments
• Strong knowledge of multi‑state payroll taxes, wage regulations, and labor compliance standards
• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks and payroll systems, including cross‑system reconciliation workflows
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, reconciliation analysis, and audit reporting
• Strong understanding of labor allocation, job costing, and payroll impact on financial reporting
• Experience reconciling payroll data across systems, including BuildOps, general ledger, and payroll platforms
• Certified Payroll Professional certification, considered an advantage
• Strong attention to detail with a zero‑error mindset in payroll processing
• Strong analytical and compliance‑driven decision‑making skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict payroll deadlines
• Strong collaboration skills across Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations teams
