Senior Inventory Cost Accountant

We are looking for an Senior Inventory Cost Accountant to lead inventory accounting, costing analysis, and month‑end reconciliations. You will manage multi‑warehouse inventory, analyze COGS, landed cost, and unit economics, ensure accurate reporting, drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and support audits using Advanced Excel and ERP systems.


What is your mission? 

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

  • Own complete month‑end close for inventory including reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and variance analysis.
  • Perform detailed inventory reconciliations across multiple warehouses and ensure physical counts align with system records.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, collaborate with warehouse teams, and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Maintain strong controls over receivingtransfersadjustments, and all inventory movements.
  • Lead analysis of inventorylanded costCOGSreservesobsolescence, and overstock items.
  • Support improved unit economics, costing methodologies, and reserve calculations for obsolete or slow‑moving inventory.
  • Partner with FP&AOperations, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate costing and forecasting inputs.
  • Strengthen data integrity, streamline issue resolution, and collaborate with teams on process improvements and automation.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to internal controls and inventory workflows.
  • Prepare documentation to support internal audits and periodic reviews.
  • Own and support other retail and e‑commerce balance sheet accounts including prepaidsaccrualsGR/IRclearing accounts, and fulfillment‑related accounts.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting, reconciliations, and updates to accounting leadership.


Who are we looking for?

  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience focused on inventory accounting and cost accounting.
  • Hands-on experience managing multi‑warehouse inventory reconciliations.
  • Strong background in COGSreservesobsolescence, and overstock inventory analysis.
  • Proven ability to run end‑to‑end month‑end close for inventory.
  • Experience working in structured corporate environments such as FMCGretail, or manufacturing.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (test required), including formulas, spreadsheets, and variance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting principlescosting methodswrite‑offs, and reserve calculations.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing journal entriesschedules, and variance analyses.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with OperationsFP&A, and warehouse teams.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, analytical, systematic, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using NetSuite or other ERP systems.
  • Prior involvement in audit preparation or supporting internal audits.
  • Experience improving or automating inventory workflows.
  • Background supporting large global organizations similar to FMCG/retail manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with unit economics modeling or costing methodology development.
